Congratulations to the Google Science Fair Winners!
To 14 year old Lauren Hodge who discovered that the type of marinade used for chicken affects the amount of carcinogenic chemicals in the grilled chicken. I am so glad I use lemon!!!
To Naomi Shah who looked for a way to uniquely quantify the effect of environmental pollutants on the lung function by measuring Peak Expiratory Flow (PEF) rate. Naomi came up with a mathematical model that doctors could use to provide a better estimate for the PEF rate.
And to the grand prize winner in the 17-18 year old category Shree Bose. Shree’s project titled AMPK and Cisplatin Resistance contributes further understanding to ovarian cancers.
The projects are awesome! Need I mention – has everyone noticed – the winners are ALL GIRLS!!!
