So how was your winter?
“Like a never ending story!” you reply.
And with this Easter weekend snow and rain, this wintry weather is still blasting Nova Scotia.
I spent the winter months in Vietnam working on curriculum development with the Vietnamese Association of Community Colleges. I got to travel through different parts of Vietnam, visiting colleges and working with faculties onsite. It was an eye-opening experience to live and work in a developing country and an enriching one as well to work with the Vietnamese people who welcome Canadians with open hearts and hospitality.
Highlights of my time there included a day with students at the Binh Duong Economics and Technology University, situated in the southwestern part of the country. We visited the Hoi Khanh Pagoda in Thu Dau Mot (pictured above) and a Japanese shopping mall, the day’s outing organized by Bean, one of the students. That’s Bean and me in the photograph on the right.
A visit to the mall was not complete without a stop at one of the fast food outlets. Nice and spicy!
The day ended with more students joining us and Karaoke to complete the day!
